Abstract

The present paper discusses the infiltration phenomenon for unsaturated porous medium. The mathematical formulation leads to a one dimensional nonlinear partial differential equation in the form of Boussinesq's equation. An approximate analytical solution of Boussinesq's equation for infiltration phenomenon have been obtained. The homotopy analysis method applied to solve Boussinesq's equation with appropriate boundary conditions. The Mathematica BVPh package for homotopy analysis method has been used to interpret numerically and graphically of solution.
